About the Academy of Coaching and NLP (ACN)
Our Mission and Vision
The Academy of Coaching and NLP is an international coach training company. Our mission is to change the world through coaching. We believe that coaching people to become their best selves creates a ripple effect. Our vision is that when you make positive life changes, this change spreads out and encompasses everyone and everything you encounter—like the ripples created when a drop of rain or a skipped pebble hits the surface of still water.
Our Director
In 2009, International Coach Trainer Helen Attridge became the director of the Academy of Coaching and NLP. Bringing over twenty years of experience in the field of personal development and fourteen years of coaching experience, Helen Attridge is recognized as one of the top trainers in the field of coaching. With Helen’s direction and energy, ACN, currently an ACSTH certified coach program is pending approval on ACTP accreditation, which is the highest standard of coach training set by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The program offers a mentoring approach to coach training, which means that we guide students every step of the way to becoming an accredited coach.
Our Distinctive Approach
ACN’s process is distinctive among other coaching schools. It’s comprehensive. From start to finish, ACN trains coaches through an experiential model to become a successful NLP certified coach. At ACN, we offer students excellent training through courses that will open up the world of coaching and provide you with all the skills you need to start coaching clients. Second, we’ll provide you with opportunities to get the supervision you need to embody the coaching skill set, as well as the mentoring hours you need should you choose to become ICF accredited, which we highly recommend. Finally, we’ll help you start your coaching practice, helping you get access to your first clients and develop a business and marketing plan.
Our Pedigree
ACN, formerly known as the NLP and Coaching Institute of California, has been providing Coach training in the U.S. and internationally for 10 years. We continue to develop and refine our program over time, always keeping the content and teaching methods on the cutting edge of the coaching field.
We also currently operate programs in China, and Mexico and are expanding to Taiwan and Japan in 2011. The legacy of this program is its focus on neurolinguistic programming (NLP) within the coaching paradigm. NLP provides a set of dynamic tools that help clients break through the obstacles to their success and move through the barriers holding them back. Our training faculty combines some of the top NLP trainers in the world with successful highly accredited and experienced coach trainers. |

"The coach training from The NLP and Coaching Institute (NLPCA) was always fantastic. Even though I was coming from the East Coast, I felt like I was coming home each month. The trainers from the institute are really good. I thought they did a good job teaching the coaching in little bits and pieces, which made the class easy. The institute did a great job translating NLP into Coaching. There are many things out there that are mediocre; but NLPCA is great because they did tactfully combined NLP with coaching techniques. Because of this, the class was easy to follow, well presented and fun! The training itself offers a lot of opportunity for personal growth and I think that’s important!
