Becoming a Teaching Assistant
At the Academy of Coaching and NLP, teaching assistants are a valuable part of our team. We welcome your interest and are excited to open this door to you!
As an assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to become an important part of ACN’s positive training environment for the students in the course. You will be influencing the course participants and assisting the instructors with everything from logistics to facilitating the learning process.
Assisting in a course will immerse you in the course material, and you will see how this process can greatly further your own understanding. It’s an amazing way to make the knowledge of coaching truly your own.
You’ll also work closely with our faculty, an experience that brings you into close contact with expert coaches, helps you make connections with mentors, and provides you with a deeper understanding of different coaching style or modality.
How do I become a Teaching Assistant?
To become a teaching assistant, start by filling out the application form below. In creating a positive and valuable learning experience, it’s important to take your role as a teaching assistant seriously. With this in mind, we ask you to commit to full participation and to do what’s needed to make the course a success.
Please read and agree to the following by clicking on the tab below:
I have previously completed the coaching course I wish to assist in (may have been when we were the NLP & Coaching Institute of California).
I will make the learning experience positive and enriching for everyone involved by fully supporting the instructor and participants in the course. I will be present, alert, and willing to do whatever is needed to make the course a success.
I will be present (in person) on the dates and times of the course. If I cannot be present or have to cancel my assistance, I will give two weeks’ notice (ten business days) to ACN.
I will meet with the instructor or lead assistant for one hour of preparation before the course starts and one hour after the course ends. Usually the prep/wrap up time will take place on the day the course meets. However, the prep/wrap up may be held at other times at the instructor’s discretion.
I will be available to assist in the course during breaks and lunch.
I will arrive on time, and I will be dressed in a professional manner.
I will not actively solicit my coaching services to participants on the day of the course or after the course ends. If a participant asks me, I may provide information about my services, but I will not contact them after the course is completed.
I understand that if the course instructor finds that my influence on the learning environment is negative, they may offer me instruction for improvement or they may ask me to leave.
Upon receiving your application, we will notify you within 2 weeks |
